Tony Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Hernandez has 16 years of healthcare management and business development experience, with an emphasis on the development and operation of post-acute inpatient facilities. He is passionate about providing the clinical expertise to match the needs of the community. He is a graduate of Kansas Newman College in Wichita, Kansas with degrees in Medical Technology and Business Administration.
Jared Udall, Regional Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Udall comes to us with a wide range of healthcare experience ranging from long term acute care to most recently a not-for-profit acute care facility. His daily operating philosophy revolves around his motto of “Poor carpenters blame their tools". He received a Masters of Business Administration in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix.
Sabrina Benefield, MPT, Director of Therapy Operations
Sabrina Benefield graduated with her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas at El Paso. She has extensive experience in therapy leadership in acute and in-patient rehab facilities. She specialized in stroke rehabilitation and continues to participate in national stroke organizations. She is currently the Program Director for RHSNM’s stroke and TBI program development teams. Sabrina has also served in various roles for Ernest Health including the Director of Patient Care Management.
Pete Najera, Director of Plant Operations
Pete has 21 years experience in the healthcare industry, he was a maintenance mechanic and HVAC tech for 15 years at a 300 bed hospital and 40 bed rehab facility in El Paso Texas. He has managed several multi-story medical buildings for four years; his license is a Texas Journey Man mechanical license. Pete has also obtained specialized training in EPA/OSHA hazmat for hospitals,mechanical codes, and OSHA safety training and participates in both local and national diaster teams.
Claudia Terrazas, Director of Marketing and Business Development
Claudia Terrazas is a Registered Nurse with 8 yrs experience primarily focused in ICU. She has also worked on Med./ Surg. and Telemetry Units.
Before her nursing degree, Claudia was a Certified Pharmacy Technician with one of our local hospitals in Las Cruces. Claudia's career began with Ernest Health in Las Cruces as a Clinical Liaison and then was promoted to Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Altaf Ahmed, M.D., Outpatient Services
Dr. Ahmed received his medical training at Bangalore University in India and at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Scotland. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Dr. Ahmed joined the RHSNM team in January 2006, relocating from Albuquerque, where he served as Medical Director for a rehabilitation hospital as well as Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Orthopedics at the UNM School of Medicine. Dr. Ahmed enjoys playing golf and traveling.
Beverly Munoz, Director of Quality and Risk Management
Ms. Muñoz has extensive nursing experience in a variety of settings across the continuum of care. She is well-versed in nursing management, project development, performance improvement, infection control and risk management. She earned an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Nursing from the New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico, and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.
Yolanda Mendoza, Director of Human Resources
Ms. Mendoza contributes over 17 years of experience in various areas of Human Resources and management. She has held prior positions of Senior Employee Relations Specialist, Employment Supervisor and Human Resources Coordinator. She also has extensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding employment practices.
Kimberly Encapera, M.D., MedicalDirector
Dr. Encapera is a graduate of the University of Louisville Medical School in Louisville, KY. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Encapera’s primary interests are in the areas of musculoskeletal medicine, prosthetics and orthotics, and neural rehabilitation. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Medical Association and the New Mexico Medical Society. She is available for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation consultations at Mountain View Regional Medical Center and Memorial Medical Center. In her free time she enjoys athletics including hiking, jogging and biking.
